Bespoke web design

for garden designers, independent artists, and creative studios

Your work is already strong. It just isn’t always seen that way online.

I structure, edit and direct how your work is presented, so it can be understood quickly and remembered.

Projects start from around £1,500, depending on the brief.

Turnaround 3 to 5 weeks, from start to launch.

Structure

What is seen first, what is held back, and how people move through the work. Structure determines whether the work is understood or overlooked.

Visual direction

How the work is presented visually — through typography, spacing and images, so it carries the right weight and presence.

Bespoke development

Built from scratch in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No templates, no page builders.

Responsive layout

Designed for desktop, tablet and mobile. Layout and spacing are adjusted for every screen size.

Image preparation

Your images are carefully prepared for the web so they stay sharp, load properly and present the work at the right quality. This includes resizing, optimisation and structured file naming for better performance and image SEO.

Launch

Versioning and deployment via GitHub. A stable, fast and easy-to-maintain solution.

How I work

A focused, collaborative process built around your content and how it needs to be seen. The aim is always the same: make the work clear quickly, and hold attention.

01

Project brief

We start with your content: your images, your text and the projects you want to show. This helps define what the site needs to do and how it should be structured.

Having a clear selection of work and a basic visual direction makes the process smoother and more precise from the start.

02

Site structure

I organise your pages, content and navigation so everything is easy to follow and each element finds its right place.

03

Visual design

Typography, spacing and images are worked through to support your work, without ever competing with it.

04

Image preparation

Your images are carefully prepared for the web so they stay sharp, load properly and present the work at the right quality. This includes resizing, optimisation and structured file naming to support both performance and image SEO.

05

Development and refinement

The site is built and tested to work smoothly across all screens, with close attention to performance and accessibility.

06

Launch and handover

Before going live, we check together that everything works as expected. Once the site is live, updates and changes can be handled by me and booked in as needed.

Frequently asked questions

Every site is designed and built from scratch in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This allows for better control over structure, performance and the way the work is presented, without relying on templates or page builders.
Projects start from around £1,500, depending on the brief.

Most projects take around 3 to 5 weeks, from start to launch.
It helps to have your text, your images and a clear sense of the work you want to show. This helps define the site structure and how everything will be organised.

It is possible to start without everything finalised, but the process often becomes slower and less precise. Having content ready from the start allows the project to move more smoothly and keeps decisions clear.
That's not a problem. Some projects start with a clear visual direction, others are still being defined. If needed, we can establish a simple direction at the start to guide the design.

A base of content will still be needed — including text and images. It doesn't need to be perfect, but it should be sufficiently in place before going too far into design, as this is what structures the site.
Yes, if that suits the work being presented. Some projects work very well on a single page or a smaller site, while others need more structure.

More pages allow for greater control over structure, pacing and the experience of the site.
Images and content can be shared via a folder link, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. This keeps everything together and makes it easier to organise.

Where possible, images should be provided at their original quality or the best available quality. I then prepare them for the web so they display correctly.
In some cases, yes. If your site is built on a platform like Squarespace or Weebly, it is often possible to improve it rather than rebuild it entirely.

The main focus is on bespoke sites, as these allow for better control over structure, performance and the presentation of the work.

For more complex platforms like WordPress, I can first review the site and recommend the best approach.
Once the site is live, updates and changes can be handled by me and scheduled as needed.
